This is a remote/home-based position.

Scopic Software (www.scopicsoftware.com) is the largest virtual software company in the world. We have over 200 employees in 25 different countries. All employees work from home. We develop custom software applications for clients in North America and Europe.
The company is looking to hire a talented web developer with strong PHP/Yii development skills and code refactoring experience. Work hours are flexible. Projects are interesting and challenging.

Position responsibilities:
• Creating guidelines, instructions, policies, documentations for best development practices and coding standards to be used by the team;
• Refactoring existing PHP(Yii)/JS code to improve readability and performance;
• Monitoring and refactoring of newly developed PHP/JS code within a fast paced environment and a team of 10+ programmers
• Maintain source code quality by redeveloping full sections from scratch
• Performance optimization of existing source code
• Development of key components from scratch
• Improving AJAX request handling/synchronization on heavy-load areas

Requirements:
• Good English reading and writing skills.
• 3+ years of practical experience with PHP/Yii framework
• 2+ years of practical experience in source code performance optimization, bottleneck identification, load distribution
• Practical experience with the well-known code design patterns used in web / PHP development with Yii framework
• Practical experience in applying code standardization policies
• Frontend programming skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript including Javascript frameworks (JQuery, AngularJS, Backbone.js, knockoutjs, node.js)
• Dedication and discipline to work remotely from home
• Good home computer and internet connection.

This is a full-time position.

The hourly rate range is $12-$18/hour depends on skills and experience.
