Yunus Social Business Balkans (a full time position, expected to start as soon as possible in Tirana) Yunus Social Business Balkans (YSBBalkans) accelerates and finances social businesses that address pressing societys social problems in a financially sustainable way. YSBBisco-founded by Nobel Peace Laureate,Professor Muhammad Yunus,and is part of Yunus Social Business (YSB) - Global Initiatives and the Grameen family of social businesses.Building on Prof. Yunus successes, YSBs goal is to sustainably solve social problems through supporting and fostering the establishment of SBs worldwide. YSB does this through provision of entrepreneur services (i.e. acceleration and incubation programs, mentoring, coaching, etc.) and provision of financing support. YSB Global Initiatives (with main office in Frankfurt, Germany) is active in 12 countries where more than 50 local investment professionals. In the last five years YSB has supported over 700 entrepreneurs, invested around 10 M USD in 45 companies, which already support over 15,000 incomes and serve more than 1.5 million clients with essential products and services in emerging and developing countries.At YSB Balkans (with its office located in Tirana, Albania),we are currently a team of fourfull time people, plus volunteers, with backgrounds in strategy consulting, entrepreneurship, civil society and international development, whosource, screen, support and invest in promising social businesses with a strong impact- and business model. In this context, YSB Balkans is looking for an Investment and Portfolio Manager to join our team and take leadership in implementing and strengthening our investment and portfolio management activities. Your main responsibilities: As an Investment and Portfolio Manager, based in Tirana, you will be reporting to the Managing Director. You will be working in close cooperation with YSBs local team in Albania and our global team in Germany.You will have an exciting set of responsibilities including the following: Take on a leadership role in generation and management of the pipeline of social businesses to be assisted and invested into. This includes: -Development and implementation of the sourcing strategy, including provision of business consulting and/or incubation and acceleration services to social businesses in Albania; -Analysis and due diligence of potential investments (especially the review and assessment of entrepreneurs capacities, qualitative and quantitative analysis of business plans, including financial modelling in Excel); -Assistance in the legal process of deal closure and incorporation of selected social businesses -Support of the Investment Committees in their respective decision-making; Take on a leadership role in portfolio management, i.e. assistance to investees and social businesses, including: -Management of the monitoring & evaluation and reporting; -Provision of post-investment support; -Management of turnaround processes; -Provision of advice to the investees and shareholders; -Supporting the Managing Director in fundraising activities. Help the YSBB representatives in administration matters, including: -Assist in the technical and financial management of the YSB Fund; -Advising and assisting the YSBBManaging Director in the management of the YSBB, including management, supervision and coaching of other team members as well as volunteers. What you have (Selection Criteria): We are considering candidates with the following qualities, skills and experience: A university degree in economics, business administration, financial management,banking, or related fields. We consider higher qualifications an advantage. A demonstrated commitment to serving societys needs and a high level of personal integrity; Native-speaker of Albanian language and fluent in English; At least five years of experience of whichat least twoyears in one of the following fields: -Professional services e.g. management consulting, accounting, finance; -Strategic, financial or general-management of divisions of private-sector businesses; -Senior position at agribusiness and livelihoods-focused organizations, with experience in implementation of internationally financed projects with a business focus in such fields; -Economics-related sections of international development agencies or financial institutions (MFIs or banks). Very strong analytical skills, mathematical ability, critical and creative thinking, evidence-based analysis, efficiency and thoroughness, demonstrated by excellent academic qualifications or prior professional results, especially in business-related subjects (e.g. economics) or in science subjects; Command of business consulting tools, especially Excel modelling,business-plan analysis, interview techniques, and research. Report writing skills (in both English and Albanian languages) Team work spirit.
